Come in out of the Northwestern rain and sit in the light, airy atmosphere of Tipu's with a cup of espresso and a delicious warm plate of Indian bread. We're open at 11:30 am just in time for a mid-morning pick-me-up and stay open until 9:30 pm, so drift in after a film for a sweetly scented demi-tasse of Turkish coffee and a scoop of cardamom ice cream made for us at the Big Dipper. Grab a healthy lunch to-go, or enjoy a relaxing sit-down dinner in our recently remodeled location. The principles upon which we base our business practices are drawn from the Buddhist tradition. Though not all of us are practicing Buddhists, all who work in our business are committed to the ideals of compassion and respect for all living beings and to generosity.
NAME: The Ranch Kitchen Community Food Co-Op A health food store/co-op, but they have a very good deli. They always have an excellent salad bar,and usually the choice of one or two soups. During the week they have aspecial "One World Lunch" which is almost always vegetarian -- anything fromburritos, to thai veggies with rice or spanikopita. And there are lots ofsalads available for either buying to take out, or you can get a plate witha scoop of this and a scoop of that. There's also sandwiches with tofu,cheese, hummus, etc., and fresh veggie and fruit juices.
