Our 2013 Market LOHAS MamboTrack Annual Natural and Organic Consumer Research Study revealed a strong buying outlook for Organic grocery with 6 in 10 forecasting an increase and 4 in 10 steady organic product spend – primarily motivated by healthiness AND Non-GMO factors.
The buying habits of savvy healthy natural shoppers are already lock step with the findings of the latest Organic Dairy Study. The 2013 MamboTrack LOHAS Survey revealed that aside from Produce, Organic Dairy – Milk and Dairy/Cheese and Eggs were identified as the most important grocery categories to purchase Organic. It’s all about health and sustainability.
What did MamboTracker healthy natural shoppers say about their motivations for buying Organic?
• Healthiness (88%) and Non-GMO (71%) were the primary motivations for buying Organic food among 7 in 10 or more.
• Another 6 in 10 said environmental and economic factors (64%) including support for Family Farms (61%) were why they put a priority on Organic.
