MOMS SAY
LET'S MAKE EARTH DAY EVERYDAY

President of Eco Angel Enterprises, Karen Palmer is reaching out to other moms for help in integrating Environmental Education into public school's standardized curriculum. This organization was founded by a mother who wanted to help and enrich the public school system. She designed an environmental board game and offered it to the public schools in her area. While Karen was a volunteer in her daughter's class, she spoke with teachers about their concerns for the environment. The teachers expressed great interest in the games but could not purchase them due to budget cuts. This is when she started her own non-profit organization which has been designing, distributing, and donating environmental board games to public schools, youth organizations, and libraries for over ten years. They are expanding to train volunteer moms to visit and interact with schools to continue to spread the word. By this Earth Day, EcoAngel Enterprises will have reached out to over 100 schools to donate games that teach simple actions that each of us can do to help the planet. Implementing these actions into everyday life will create a better world for all of us. This is only the beginning of their mission. They hope to have "Let's Save Our Earth" games in schools nation-wide by next year for Earth Day. EcoAngels will be applying for grants, asking for private donations, seeking corporate sponsorship, and using proceeds from sales of the games to further their mission. Teachers have requested more tools for teaching environmental studies, which they feel is a very important issue for student exposure and discussion. Students have voiced their concerns and are taking active roles and forming groups to educate others.

We are asking for your help. Please share this information and search your heart to see how you can become part of the solution. Educating children about the environment is an investment into OUR future. It is important that we empower the future generations with knowledge. Educational and fun, Let's Save Our Earth is an environmental awareness board game that empowers each player. This game has incorporated California science standards from the standardized curriculum to allow teachers to utilize it in lesson plans for science.

Additionally, it uses non-bullying techniques to teach children to be kinder and respect others. Working in environmental education since 1994, Karen Palmer loves the earth. She studied marine biology and has worked in outdoor camps with students. When she saw the strong interest kids have in the environment, she developed Eco-Angel Enterprises as a nonprofit organization to produce this non-competitive game. She won the Santa Ynez Valley Foundation Education Award for the year 2010. Please visit www.ecologygame.org How you can help save the Earth!
