EDISON AWARDS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL ACHIEVEMENT
The American Marketing Association is the largest organization in the world for marketing professionals. It is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, and has 40,000 members.
Selection Criteria
1) A product recognized for environmental achievement must represent a recently introduced product, or a line extension or new form of an existing product that represents a significant achievement in reducing environmental impact. Typical strategies include energy efficiency, recyclability, use of recycled content, source reduction, low toxics, reusability, and use of renewable resources.
2) Should be broadly available (strong regional or national distribution).

1996 Winners Announced for Special Edison Awards for Environmental = Achievement
The American Marketing Association is pleased to announce the 1996 recipients of special Edison Awards for Environmental Achievement. Three awards were given to consumer products that represent significant achievement in the area of environmental preferability, as follows:

Vision Paper , for Trailblazer paper made from kenaf
ASKO Washers
A special prize for corporate environmental achievement was awarded to:
Tom's of Maine, Inc.
A special citation was presented to:
The Alternative Agricultural Research and Commercialization Corporation of the United States Department of Agriculture for their support of new products made from renewable, farm-based resources.
The awards were presented at a dinner in New York City in March 1997.
